Claudia Jones research collection, 1935-1998.

The Claudia Jones Research Collection consists of material complied by author Marika Sherwood during her research for a biography on Jones entitled "Claudia Jones: A Life in Exile." The collection provides information on Jones' life just prior to her deportation, her early years in London and individuals' recollections of Jones. Comprised mainly of photocopies of documents obtained from the Federal Bureau Investigation through the Freedom of Information Act, there are also letters from Sherwood to people who knew and/or worked with Jones seeking information about first hand experiences they had with her.
